Solenoid Valve 1/4" 107 NC-IA Brass FKM(FPM) 0.15-15 Bar 220V AC
Images may vary slightly
This is a ACL Italy Indirect operating 2 way solenoid valve with G 1/4 inch threads and a 220 V AC coil. The valve has a brass housing with FKM(FPM) sealing and an orifice size of 10 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed, which means the valve opens when voltage is applied. The valve is suitable for pressures of 0.15 - 15 bar (2 - 217 psi) and a ambient temperature according to coil from -10°C to +80°C and seal temperature range is -10°C to +140°C. The valve has a Kv-value of 1.5 m3/h, which translates to a flow rate of 25 l/min at a differential pressure of 0.15 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 1.72, which means 1.72 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. For simple applications it is often enough to select a valve based on the thread size and orifice diameter.

Description
The brass housing is durable, suitable for neutral fluids and resistant to many chemicals. The FKM (fluoro rubber material) sealing is suitable for neutral fluids and many chemicals, but it has poor resistance to oils and fats. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected.
Pros:
- Relatively large orifice (10.5 mm) for the compact body size
- Solenoid valves open and close very fast compared to many other valve types
- Delivered including coil and connector
- Semi-direct operated valves work from 0 bar, which makes them suitable for low pressure or gravity fed systems, circulating closed circuits or even rough vacuums
- EPDM is suitable for (hot) water, neutral fluids and many chemicals
- Good protection against the environment thanks to the IP65 rating
Cons:
- EPDM is not suitable for oils and fats
- If your pressure differential is always higher than 0.5 bar, an indirect operated solenoid valve could be an alternative with a larger flow rate
- Solenoid valves are very sensitive to dirt and can only be used with clean liquids and gases
- Solenoid valves use energy while activated and the coil may get hot. A well ventilated installation environment is recommended to dissipate the heat
NC-IA series
The NC-IA valve is a indirectly operated, normally closed 2/2-way solenoid valve. The ST-SA series can be used from zero bar. The body is available in brass and stainless steel with an NBR, EPDM or FKM seal. The orifice is 10.5 mm for the brass valves, and 8 mm for the stainless steel valves. The ST-SA solenoid valves are compatible with all coils from the CS1-series. The valves are available with BSP or NPT threads on request.
