They feature an all-metal construction providing minimal backlash and low restoring forces, require no lubrication, and allow for visual inspection of disc packs without disconnecting equipment. These couplings compensate for angular, parallel (radial), and axial misalignment. The Thomas series offers more than 25 standard sizes with close-coupled, spacer, and floating shaft designs. Rexnord Thomas Disc Couplings include models such as Series 52 (Non-adapter style spacer), Series 71 (Adapter-style spacer, 4- and 6-bolt versions), and Series 71-8 (8-bolt version). Applications include general-purpose and critical ANSI/API process pumps, compressors, and fans.
