Description

Siemens SM 1222 DQ16 module provides 16 relay‑type digital outputs organized in two groups of eight. It operates from a 24 V DC backplane supply and draws approximately 115 mA of current. Each output can switch resistive loads up to 2 A or lamp loads up to 30 W DC/200 W AC at voltages from 5 V DC to 30 V DC or 5 V AC to 250 V AC. Output delay is approximately 10 ms, and mechanical relay life is rated at 10 million cycles. There is no integrated short‑circuit protection; external fusing is recommended. The module supports cable lengths up to 500 m (shielded) or 150 m (unshielded). Diagnostics and supply voltage monitoring are integrated. Galvanic isolation between the relay outputs and the backplane bus withstands 1 500 V AC.
