Description

Magnaflux Pyrogel 100 is a high temperature ultrasonic couplant designed for demanding inspections requiring a very broad operating range from -50 to 805°F (-45 to 429°C). The translucent, thick gel is non-drying to support long-term coupling and extended inspection time, making it an excellent choice for long-term flow metering and high temperature ultrasonic testing on power generation boilers, transmission pipes and pressure vessels. Pyrogel 100 offers excellent long-term corrosion inhibition, clings well to vertical and overhead surfaces, is not water soluble and contains no glycerin or propylene glycol, while maintaining low halogen and sulfur levels for compatibility with most composites and metals.

Key Features

• High temperature ultrasonic couplant gel with broad temperature range

• Non-drying formula for long-term coupling and extended inspection time

• Excellent long-term corrosion inhibition to help protect components

• Clings well to vertical and overhead surfaces for easier high temperature inspections

• Good choice for long-term flow metering and high temperature ultrasonic testing

• Low halogen and sulfur levels for compatibility with most composites and metals

• Thick gel consistency for stable coupling at elevated temperatures

Applications

• Flaw detection and sizing in ultrasonic testing

• Thickness gauging at elevated temperatures

• Acoustic emission testing

• Corrosion testing on high temperature assets

• Long-term flow metering applications

• High temperature ultrasonic testing in power generation boilers

• Inspection of transmission pipes, pressure vessels, pipes, tubular goods and connections

• Coupling at low temperature locations where long-term coupling is required
