Description

Fluke 87V Offers Identifies complex signal problems fast Provides the resolution and accuracy to efficiently troubleshoot motor drives, plant automation, power distribution, and electromechanical equipment. On top of that, this industrial multimeter effectively performs in loud, high energy, and high altitude locations. Features a low pass filter which supports precise frequency measurements on VFDs and acquires intermittents as quickly as 250 µS. Use this multimeter to measure AC currents up to 10 A directly. Also, features a built-in thermometer that enables you to take temperature readings without having to carry a separate instrument and more. Plus, comes with a bright, two-level backlit display which allows you to see the results better in dim light. Electrical safety All inputs are protected to the 2nd edition of ANSI/ISA S82.01 and EN61010-1 CAT IV 600 V and CAT III, 1000 V. They can withstand impulses in excess of 8.000 V and reduce risks related to surges and spikes. Correctly measure pulse-width modulated motor drive signals Until now, there hasn't been a multimeter able to accurately measure adjustable speed drives. Although, this industrial multimeter is designed specifically to handle these complex signals. Think of the potential productivity you'll gain by taking the guesswork out of drive system troubleshooting. Measurements are correct each and every time. Features Unique function for accurate voltage and frequency measurements on adjustable speed motor drives and other electrically noisy equipment Built-in thermometer conveniently allows you to take temperature readings without having to carry a separate instrument Optional magnetic hanger for easy set-up and viewing while freeing your hands for other tasks Large digit display with bright, two-level backlight makes the 87V significantly easier to read than older models True-rms ac voltage and current for accurate measurements on non linear signals Selectable filter for accurate voltage and frequency measurements on motor drives 0.05% DC accuracy 6000 counts, 3-3/4 digits 4-1/2 digit mode for precise measurements (20,000 counts) Measure up to 1000 V AC and DC Measure up to 10 A, 20 A for up to 30 seconds Built in thermometer lets you carry one less tool (TC probe included) Frequency to 200 kHz and % duty cycle Resistance, continuity and diode test 10,000 µF capacitance range for components and motor caps Min/max-average recording with min/max alert to capture variations automatically Peak capture to record transients as fast as 250 µs Relative mode to remove test lead interference from low ohms measurements Auto and manual ranging for maximum flexibility Touch Hold to capture stable readings avoiding noisy signals Large display digits and two-level bright white backlight for increased visibility Analog bargraph for fast changing or unstable signals Input Alert provides audible warning against wrong use of input jacks Improved selectable sleep mode for long battery life Access door for fast battery changes without breaking the calibration seal Classic design with new removable holster with built in test lead and probe storage Unique function for accurate measurements of noisy pulse-width modulated AC voltage Measures correctly at the ASD and at the motor terminals Accurately measure the frequency (motor speed), frequency measurement not affected by the ASDs carrier frequency Measure AC current with an optional current clamp accessory Compare reading with the display on the ASD Special shielding blocks high frequency, high-energy noise generated by large drive systems Applications Industrial Maintenance & Repair Test & Measurement Motors/VFDs How to choose the best DMM for your job? The kit allows you to hang your meter in a variety of ways—including on nails, hooks and many other objects—solving any hanging and positioning problem you may face. Please note that this product doesn't clip into the Fluke T6 Series like it does for other Fluke meters. Instead, you must simply feed the Velcro loop through the slot on the back of the T6 and Velcro it together. Features Powerful magnetic hanger allows you to hang your meter on any metallic surfaces 9" (228.6 mm) hook and loop strap allows you to loop around pipes Hook hanger for hanging on non-magnetic surfaces General purpose hanger allows you to hang your meter on nails, hooks and many other objects Fluke 80BK-A Integrated DMM Temperature Probe Features Standard shrouded banana jack Convenient one piece construction Fluke C35 Soft Carrying Case Dimensions: 8.7 x 5.5 x 2.6" (220 x 140 x 65 mm) Solving Electrical Problems with Fluke Thermal Imaging Today’s thermal imagers have become a realistic solution for everyday electrical maintenance as they are rugged, easy to use, and much more affordable than even just a few years ago. It's a straight-forward process, where a qualified technician or electrician points the thermal imager at the equipment in question and scans the immediate area, looking for unexpected hot spots. The imager produces a live image of the heat emitted from the equipment and with the quick squeeze of the trigger, a thermal image is captured. When the inspection is complete, the image is uploaded to a computer, Apple®, iPhone® or iPad® for closer analysis, reporting, and future trending. There are a few basic how-tos to consider... electrical load, safety, and emissivity. In this application note, we walk you through these, as well as the Top 5 Checklist, and much more.
